These pages contain my thoughts on the meaning and messages of tarot cards that I have drawn for myself. Some of this will be based on traditional interpretations of each card however my intention is to provide more intuitive offerings that are particular to my own life and circumstances at the time.

Sometimes, however, one cannot always see the forest for the trees so I welcome and appreciate comments with any further insights others may like to extend.

Thank you for your visit here; may you find something that resonates within your soul amongst these humble writings. Blessed be.

Card of the Day for Saturday 25 September - IX Swords

Yes, I definitely shuffled. Having this card two days in a row means that I either haven't dealt with the issues that this card speaks of or that there is more of the energy of this card with me today.

Clearly something I have to ponder further.

Card of the Day for Friday 24 September - IX of Swords

Not a seemingly pleasant card, as is the case with most of the suit of swords, but as an air sign, which swords correspond to, I am usually able to see the benefits of this shadowy depiction.

The key word of this card for me is nightmares. Sometimes this is in regards to any type of sleep problem but it can also be a reference to your sleep being a connection to your subconscious and your nightmares being a mirror of your innermost fears.

In the safety of our beds with the covers pulled up around our chin, we can be woken from our dreams and nightmares with the images and feelings that cause us fear to continue to cling to us on waking. When this happens we have a choice - we can pull the covers up further, close our eyes again and try to find comfort somewhere in the soft familiarity of our pillows or we can keep our eyes open, we can turn our faces toward that which is troubling us, throw back our covers and therefore our defences and step towards what we fear most. Only by doing this will we ever be able to conquer our fears and only through conquering our fears do we find complete freedom.

XX JUDGEMENT - In Retrospect

A wonderful synchronicity occurred with the word Judgement yesterday, stemming from it being my card for the day. In a rather unrelated yet holistically inseparably conversation my auxiliary used this word in a context that made me recall this card and gave it undeniable meaning.

For me yesterday, this card is about the judgements we place on ourselves, on being our own harshest critics and of self-talk that serves initially to denigrate ourselves in a given moment but which spirals into an attitude and existence that permeates our entire existence. We often need to be reminded that these are limiting thoughts and ones that we have complete control over in regards to the extent of their usefulness or the damage we let them do.

The message is to own your actions but to carry the successes above all else with you each of your days.

Card of the Day for Thursday 23 September - XX JUDEGEMENT

Today is a day to step back from the small nuances of life and to take a look at the big picture. It's true that the small things make up the whole so in order to change the big picture there is a need to change the little things along the way but when you're so caught up in them it is not always possible to see the forest for the trees.

This is a time of reflection on the things that really matter. Don't sweat the small stuff but do look at how you want your life to be and work towards that vision now.

IX HERMIT - In Retrospect

Well, after my little hissy fits, I actually fell unwittingly into a hermit-like state of mind and found there was much gain. There was a few moments of extreme anxiety but after that there was calm, mental processing that was actually followed by a good mood that has flowed into today. Again I am reminded that the messages of the universe are much bigger than the single moment in which they are received.

Card of the Day for Wednesday 22 September - IX HERMIT

Getting messages about working internally and externally - so which one is it?

The Hermit calls us towards solitude and inner reflection. He guides us towards consideration of the world rather than physical interactions and he assures us that this is necessary, this is what will bring us the wisdom to proceed on our true path.

For me, I believe this is something that we do in different cycles throughout our lives and will always be a large part of my existence but I am also really feeling like I need to make action more of a priority in my life. Even in a practical sense, in just two days I will have a house full of visitors, some for two nights, some for longer, and next week we are in to the school holidays, which is an incredibly demanding time for me and one that I do my best to work with, rather than against. As a result, I will have no opportunity what so ever to rest let alone to meditate and soul-search.

Arrrrggg, universe! Just give me some sort of consistency to work with - and by that I mean a constant plateau, not constantly throwing more and more varied and "interesting" things at me to deal with. PPPLLLLEEEEEAAASSSE!!!

Card of the Day for Tuesday 21 September - XVIII MOON

Things are not as they appear. The moon's light illuminates but your vision can play tricks on you in this light. This is a wonderful time for intuitive work - where we look with our hearts and minds rather than with our fallible eyes. Sometimes it is better to go with what we feel about someone or something.

In two days time it will be the Full Moon and Ostara this year falls on the same date. Is this simply a reminder to make celebrating these turnings or is it more of a reminder of what I had been tentatively planning and the potential in the energy of this time which will serve my new ventures well?

Card of the Day for Monday 20 September - IV of Cups

Okay, another card asking for quiet reflection and again dealing with emotional issues. This time, however, I appear to be able to face whatever it is that I need to work through, rather than turning my back on it. This is a necessary phase and one that will help me progress. A worthwhile investment indeed.

Card of the Day for Sunday 19 September - XIII of Cups

There are times we need to turn our backs on the mundane world and make the journey within ourselves so that we can truly explore our emotions and through them we can understand ourSelves better. Sometimes, separating ourSelves emotionally from people or situations in our lives can allow us to connect more deeply on an emotional level with what we need to experience within ourSelves. Doing this at the right time can help us work through an issue and will make us more resilient and will put our souls in the best position to learn the lesson of what we needed to explore.
